Teaching Plan

         

1.1     Curriculum

VRU demonstration school uses a curriculum based on the school needs. It is: school-based curriculum. This curriculum includes the adoption of variety of curriculum. They made it as suitable as possible for their students.

    Observation on Teacher(s)

The observation period started on august 1^st 2018. After the university orientation we were brought to the school. The school teachers guided us to the classroom after the orientation that held by the school. We were told the school details, vision and mission. We visited almost all classes from grade 1-6.

1.1     Planning for teaching

The teachers prepared their own lesson plan. They will observe the various kinds of methods and strategy that is suitable or their students. As I mention before the school used school-based curriculum, which make the teachers need to do observation more often to the methods that they have used. But so far the most suitable methods that applied to the school and most of the classes, which is Discovery-learning method.

1.2     Teaching in class

What I have seen in VRU Demonstration School is that the teachers have a very good classroom management. Each teacher can manage their class really well. It can be seen through the warm up until the wrap up stage. As we know teaching young children could be challenging because they used to play around. But that is not the case in each classroom in VRUDS. The teacher can handle all the children smoothly. The children are keeping their eyes on the teacher and stand still until the learning activities are over.

1.3     Measurement and Evaluation

Every time the teacher finished a chapter from the handbook they gave the students evaluation sheet about what they have learnt in the related chapter. Most of the time the teacher really counts the writing work of the students. Because the students are expected to be able to write correctly. an extra points are given to the grade 1-2 students if they can draw or color the given task beautifully.
